Nasa VIP Tour

Just when I thought we were good on traveling for a while Ray decides to take us to Houston for about a week to visit with our good O bud Marcos. The first night we met up with some of his buds at a dive bar. They had a set of pretty sweet doors.

We also headed down south to Galveston Texas to check out the the disaster that Hurricane Ike left behind back in September. Galveston was still in shambles and it was quite obvious that she still had not yet recovered from being raped and pillaged. As a matter of fact, Marcos was our troubled hurricane victim that we kindly took in with our big hearts and open arms.

Look at the sad trapped truck. From a full view you can see chunks that Hurricane Ike had riped straight out of the board walk.

I really should of taken more photos but it was shocking and kinda depressing. But honestly, hurricane or not, Galveston was in dire need of a makeover so this was probably for the best. Galveston has so much potential to flourish and be totally rad as fuck. I mean seriously, it’s right on the coast. Not a lot of towns in Texas have that luxury, so they should live up to it and make it happen and I promise you the tourist will come by the boat loads, ready to dump trunk loads of money right in the heart of Galveston. Potential, so much potential. Well, like I said, it was depressing so we went to Buca De Peppo to grab a bit to eat.

It was del-rish-ous! Probably the best Bucca De Peppo meal I’ve had yet and we didn’t even have dessert. Oh, we also invited Marcos’s room-mate. The muscle in the back row, and whimps in the front.

On the way home we got to witness Marcos’s car reach 8888 miles. What a historic moment for his Dodge Ram.

Of course the highlight of our trip was our sweet VIP tour at Nasa. Yes, our very good friend, Marcos, whom is like a brother to me, works at Nasa. Have your people call my people and I’ll see if I could get you in.

Nasa is building a space tent, or maybe it’s a space garage, for a space-ship. All I can tell you is that it’s on a need to know basis and if your reading this you probably don’t need to know, carry on, carry on.

Before I left for the moon I had to run a few test, make sure everything was working and all, just proper protocol.

And here we have a new space trampoline that’s in the making. Astronaunts like to jump into space when they are in space. It very invigorating.

And directly next to it is the biggest swimming pool on the face of this earth, at least that’s what we’ve been told. But if you don’t believe me go watch Armageddon and go see for yourself. I talked to a lot of the real astronauts that were there during the filming of that movie and they all agree that Ben Affleck was a little bitch and cried like one too, especially during the whole under water training scene.

The pool is 40 ft deep. It doesn’t look like it but it is and as you can see the water is super blue, but I promise you no food coloring was added to the pool for a more dramatic effect; the pool is just ridiculously filtered.

The main reason that brought us out to Houston wasn’t Nasa, wasn’t Marcos, it was Soft Ball. Ray’s fantastic at base ball and he’s been itching to play for a while now. Marcos is on two soft ball teams that happen to be booked to play at the same time. He asked Ray to fill in for him in one of the games, assuming it would be okay and Ray quickly accepted the offer. Well as it turns out not everyone was okay with it and my husband wasn’t allowed to play. If you ask me it was a stupid mistake on their part and if Ray had played they probably wouldn’t have lost.

The next day we packed our bags and loaded up the rocket and shot back home to Austin Texas in 2.8 minutes flat.

Up Up and Away!

Up Up and Away!

Now that 2009 is here I want to take some time to reflect on 2008. I always knew 2008 was going to be a good year. I remember looking forward to it because it was 08 and 8 is just a good fucking number. It was only a year ago Ray and I were living the good o life in the rainbow state, Honolulu Hawaii.

It was almost a year ago that I started my first post on this blog, January 9th 2008. Since then I’ve written 121 post. I don’t really know who’s all reading it, but it sure has made my hand written journaling take back seat.

I cut my hair super short for the first time ever. It was kinda cute wasn’t it?

Ray got a new iPhone.

Ray and I ran in The Annual Great Aloha Run, just a little over 8 miles, and we all know eight is a good number to start with.

We voted for our first time for the Democratic Party. But just for the record, once Hillary was out of the election Ray and I voted again for our first time for President for Obama of course.

Ray bought me my first brand new computer. Mac 4 life baby!

MyBabyOurBaby Launched.

We finally found the dock where Lost, our favorite television series, was filmed at. We searched the island for it forever.

We went camping at Melekahana, our first time camping in Hawaii and Ray’s first time ever. He’s not a fan.

Rocked out at the Kokua Festival, a festival Jack Johnson puts on every year in Hawaii.

CheapPlacesToEatInOahuHawaii.com, my blog had become a major hit and one of Hawaii’s most popular food blog websites.

I called some lady a cunt on my last day of work, because she was.

We got to swim with dolphins.

We moved back to the main land, California first.

Ray got to meet some of my extended family.

Tried wake boarding for the first time.

Got to ride dirk bikes again.

Moved to Austin

Where we met the Semmlers, Shane’s older brother and his family and now mine.

Kidnapped Kuya Ben’s dogs.

Found the Agave Homes and fell in love.

Ray introduced me to Marcos. He works for NASA.

Went to our first roller derby.

Spent Bachelorette week in Florida with my best bud Jack Mother Fucking Dogg with a double G.

Got married, 080808.

Got my first tattoo with my old crew from V-Town.

Traveled to New York, but just for a couple of months.

I stopped eating meat.

Met Guav Mom and the Roses and I have to tell you I’m a fan. Hope we get to see them again soon.

I got to freelanced at Jimmy Z’s, thanks to Bea.

We got to be extras in Friday Night Lights.

I almost died from pneumonia.

I met the Semmler’s, the rest of Shane’s family, and now mine as well and went to my first professional basketball game. Go Mavericks!

As you can see I love recording my life and 2008 was a year worth recording. There was a lot of cherry popping going on and I got to meet a lot of people that will be in my life for the long haul. We also moved around a lot, Hawaii, California, Austin, New York, Dallas. Things are just never boring with us. I’m looking forward to a healthy, happy and prosperous year for 2009. I know great things are to come.

I got a new computer! Getting a new laptop is the best feeling in the world. Ray picked me up from work yesterday. It was Saturday, which meant I had barely enough time to get home, change and get to my other job. I have this love/hate relationship with Saturdays because while everyone is out enjoying the day I spend the whole day working, but by the end of the night I come home with loads of cash. Anyhow, it was a pretty slow Saturday so I didn’t have to rush to my other job. The first thing I did when I came home was lay on the bed, this was funny because Ray had left my present under one of his T-shirts for me to find on the bed. My hand knocked it a few time, but it didn’t occur to until he pointed it out. He’s like, “you didn’t even notice. I got you an early birthday present.” I know my birthday is on January, 30 but he’s referring to my Chinese birthday, which this year is on March 7, thirty days after Chinese New Year. I tore off the Christmas wrapping paper to uncover my new laptop. I can’t tell you how surprised and ecstatic I was. Even though I may seem like a hard ass I’m also super emotional so I started to cry while hugging him. It’s a good thing he didn’t give me this in public because I was a wreak. I have been needing a computer for the longest time now. Since I’m a photo whore, every time I go to open up iphoto or to upload photos my computer drags major ass. It’s so annoying and I can’t help but to curse hell out of it. I had planned on buying a new computer this year, but I put it off and started focusing on paying off some debt, moving, etc.

The computer I had before this was a Mac as well, but I bought it off Beau, our friend in San Francisco shortly after dating Ray two years ago. At the time I decided to come out of my shell and as the saying goes, “if you can’t beat em join em.” I’m referring to technology. I admit I was super ignorant about it, but in a humble, hippie kind of way. Why e-mail anyone when you could call them, or even better, write them a letter, send it in the mail because it’s more meaningful that way. And why spend my days surfing the net when I could spend it being more productive like writing in my journal, having lunch with a friend, hiking with my dog, learning a new craft, you get my point. Sooner or later I realized that I was becoming a burden always asking friends to make me CDs of music and photos and asking my little sister who lives in San Diego for help with this or that. I had no idea on what to get and was leaning towards getting a Dell and then I met Ray. Ray is Mac for life. Once I knew Ray and I were serious I decided to buy his friend, Beau’s Ibook. Ray had talked so highly of Macs and I knew if I needed any help, which was a given, I knew Ray could help me. Beau was selling it for 700. It was still in great condition and he had done some major upgrades to it so it was suppose to be a really good deal. I bought it and that was the beginning of the end.

These days if I’m in the house more than likely I will be on the computer. I use to always say, “I don’t care about technology,” to be funny but these days technology had taken over my life. I can say with 100% certainty that I am addicted to being on the computer. I subscribe to tons of blogs, have two websites of my own, this one and Cheap Places To Eat In Oahu Hawaii, my photos are on line, I pay my bills on line, etc. I now see the benefit of having a computer and being on the internet. It’s crazy because now I’m more tech savvy than my friends and family. I wish that they all saw value in it as well just because it’s really a great way for people to stay connected without actually having to pick up the phone. Besides using Chat, just leaving a comment on a photo or a blog is still some kind of contact and staying connected. I feel as though I am able to keep some of my closest friends close and dear to me through the internet even though I haven’t spoken to them in years. I just wish my family were more tech savvy so I could stay better connected with them that way but they can be pretty ignorant sometimes. I’m planning on sending my old computer to my little sister Selena. It’s crazy because I use to hate my younger sister, but these days she’s the closest thing I have to a best friend, besides my wonderful fiance of course. But besides being able to stay connected with others I love the internet because everything is there at the click of a button, movies, songs, porn, how tos, etc. There’s definitely something very harmonious about being able to share information and knowledge with the rest of the world.  Anyhow I’ve gone on long enough on this crazy rant. All I gotta say is I’m Mac 4 life and I have my baby to thank for it. I love you honey, you’re the best.
