The blog about the life of Doan

As most of you know Hurricane Ike, a Category 2 storm, battered Galveston with 110 mph winds and a 12-foot storm surge, flooding homes and destroying businesses, more than a week ago. At least 61 deaths, including 26 in Texas were attributed to Ike. About 45,000 of the city’s 57,000 residents fled Galveston Island, about 50 miles southeast of Houston and many Houston residents were evacuated as well. Our friend Marcos was one of them and we took in this Hurricane Ike victim with open arms. Hum, I wonder if we could potentially use this as a tax write off, surely there must be some loop hole. I mean this poor unfortunate soul would be in shambles if it not had been for us and our rescue.

During his stay he attended the Amazon conference where Ray was invited to give a brief speech. We also went to a Cru Wine Bar where we sampled lots of good wines. I cooked a lot because for some asinine reason I’ve turned domesticated. Marcos just recently purchased a new Apple computer and was pretty much finger banging his keyboard during his whole stay. Hey no judgment passed; Apple for life baby. Ray set up a new blog for Marcos, and basically turned him into a blogging whore of whores. We intended to go see some dinosaur sculptures at Zilker Park, but the place was closed.

We did a lot of walking around to kill time and in the process I found my boots.  Exactly as I had envisioned in my head. Aren’t they boot-e-ful? But they were the wrong color, not dark enough.  So I’ll wait.

We had to leave for New York soon so we threw him the keys and asked him to take out the trash and locked the door when he leaves. Hope your doing well Marcos and that your stuff wasn’t floating away when you got home.
